Windows 11 Build 27902 (Canary) comes with several fixes

Microsoft has released a new preview of Windows 11, build 27902, to Insiders in the Canary channel. It doesn't come with a drastic changes. Instead, it only includes a few fixes.

Changes and improvements

General

  • This update includes a small number of improvements and fixes designed to improve the overall experience of the operating system.

Fixes

File Explorer

  • Fixed an issue from the previous flight where File Explorer might not save your view settings. The issue affected desktop icons, which could move unexpectedly or revert to their default size.

Camera

  • Fixed an issue where on some devices the Camera app might freeze after switching between the main and front cameras.

Known issues

General

  • [Important note for Copilot+ devices] If you are upgrading to the Canary channel from the Dev, Release Preview, or Stable channels on a Copilot+ device, you will encounter an issue using your PIN or biometrics when attempting to sign in. You will see the error "Something went wrong, your PIN is not available" with the code 0xd0000225. To reset your PIN, click the "Set up PIN" button.
  • [New] Investigating an issue where a small number of Insiders may be experiencing repeated GSODs with the error KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. This may occur when connected to a VPN.
  • This build features a delightful blast from the past, replacing the Windows 11 startup sound with the Windows Vista sound. This issue will be fixed in future builds.

Settings

  • Investigating an issue that may cause the Settings app to crash when interacting with settings under Settings > System > Power & battery.
  • [New] Investigating an issue where some apostrophes in text in the Settings app and related dialogs are displayed incorrectly (as random characters).

Remote Desktop

  • In this build, you may experience significant graphical corruption and rendering issues when using Remote Desktop on machines with an ARM64 processor.
