Windows 11 Build 26236 (Canary) ships new Account Manager to more users

Microsoft today released Windows 11 Build 26236 to Insiders in the Canary channel. It continues the rollout of the new Account Manager in the Start menu, fixes the Edge sound level in the Settings app, and includes several more fixes.

Changes and improvements

This update includes a small number of improvements and fixes designed to improve the overall operating system experience.

Start Menu

This update starts the rollout of the new Account Manager to the Start menu. If you're signed in with a Microsoft account, the new manager design lets you quickly see the benefits of your account. The new manager also makes it easier to change your account settings.

Fixes

Taskbar

  • Fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders not seeing the taskbar in the previous two flights.
  • Fixed a major issue where restarting Microsoft Edge would not save the preferred volume set in Settings > System > Sound > Volume (Volume Mixer).

Known Issues

  • [Important] Microsoft is investigating reports that some Insiders in the Dev and Canary channels are stuck on build 26040 or 23620. If you want to upgrade to the latest build, you can download the official ISO image and perform a clean install of the system to continue receiving new builds for Dev and Canary channels.
  • [New] Working to fix an issue that causes colors to appear incorrectly in the Performance section when using the dark theme.

Microsoft Store Update

Windows Insider members on the Beta, Dev, and Canary channels have access to a new version of the Microsoft Store, number 22405.xxxx.x, which includes the following improvements.

Fast and secure payment for purchases using Microsoft Wallet

Now you can not only earn Microsoft Rewards points in the Microsoft Store, but you can also easily redeem points for gift cards during checkout.
