Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7051 (KB5067115) to the Dev and Beta Channels. Starting today, Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel will receive the same Dev Channel updates based on Windows 11, version 25H2 as a recommended update.
Advertisеment
Insiders currently in the Dev Channel may switch to the Beta Channel during this alignment period. This opportunity remains open only while both channels share the same 25H2-based builds. Once the Dev Channel advances to a higher build number, the switch window will close. Microsoft advises Insiders to evaluate their preferred channel before this transition occurs.

Introducing Ask Copilot in Taskbar
The Ask Copilot in taskbar feature integrates Copilot directly into the Windows taskbar, offering one-click access to Copilot Vision and Voice. Users can interact via text, voice, or guided support, with results updating instantly as they type. This experience complements Windows Search and uses existing Windows APIs to return apps, files, and settings without granting Copilot access to personal content.

To enable it, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Ask Copilot. Users can also control whether the Copilot app launches automatically at sign-in through the app’s settings.
Full Screen Experience
Following its initial launch on ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, the full screen experience (FSE) now expands to additional Windows 11 handheld devices. Designed for console-style navigation, FSE pairs with the Xbox PC app to deliver a distraction-free interface optimized for handheld gaming, with minimized background processes and deferred non-essential tasks.

On supported devices, users can enable FSE by navigating to Settings > Gaming > Full screen experience and selecting Xbox as the home app. Once enabled, FSE is accessible from Task View, Game Bar, or can launch automatically at startup.

Availability includes ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, with preview rollout beginning today for MSI Claw models. Additional OEMs will enable FSE on their handhelds in the coming months. Feedback is accepted in Feedback Hub under Gaming and Xbox > Gaming Handhelds.
Microsoft begins rolling out shared audio (preview) for Copilot+ PCs, leveraging Bluetooth® LE Audio broadcast technology. This feature allows two users to share audio from the same PC—such as watching movies or listening to music together.

Users can start by selecting the “Shared audio (preview)” tile in quick settings, choosing two supported, paired, and connected accessories, and clicking “Share.”

Prism
Microsoft enables an update to Prism, the emulator for Windows on Arm, to support additional CPU features for 64-bit x86 (x64) applications under emulation. This enhancement applies by default to all 64-bit x86 apps. Support for 32-bit x86 applications requires manual opt-in via the emulation settings in the app’s Properties window.
Fixes Gradually Being Rolled Out with Toggle On
General
Microsoft resolved an issue that prevented keyboards and other USB devices from functioning for a small number of Insiders after recent updates.
Start Menu
A fix addresses a problem where folders or their contents in the Start menu could become invisible after interaction.
File Explorer
Underlying changes improve File Explorer responsiveness when navigating network locations and reduce launch time. The context menu now displays the correct icon for .exe, .cmd, and .bat files. Microsoft also fixed an issue causing desktop icons to shift during file operations and resolved tooltip display problems when navigating the Home view with a keyboard.
Lock and Login Screens
A memory leak affecting slideshow lock screens has been fixed, along with an issue causing slow first-time logins for new accounts.
Settings
Microsoft corrected an overlap between the Settings search box and window control buttons in the title bar.
Other
Fixes include resolving unexpected “legacy window” announcements by screen readers, correcting text rendering in multiline text boxes, restoring protected content playback on affected machines, and addressing reduced ethernet upload speeds on some PCs.
Known Issues
Taskbar & System Tray
Microsoft is investigating a problem preventing the Start menu from opening on click for some Insiders, though it still opens via the Windows key. This issue may also affect the notification center (accessible with WIN + N). Additionally, some apps fail to appear in the system tray when expected.
File Explorer
In the dark mode copy dialog, copy progress may flash when toggling detail visibility. The scrollbar and footer appear as a white block instead of rendering correctly when text scaling is applied.
