Changes and improvements
Click to Do (Preview) for PC Copilot+
- Added the ability to translate text using Microsoft Copilot. Now, when you select text in a language other than the Windows interface language or your preferred languages, a translation suggestion will appear. The selection is sent to Copilot, which automatically translates it. Currently, this feature only works if you have access to the new Copilot suggestion pane in Click to Do, which was introduced in the previous build. This change is not yet available for Insiders in the European Economic Area (EEA) and China.
Taskbar and system tray
- Microsoft has begun testing a new taskbar feature that lets you share an open window with Copilot. This feature works similarly to the window sharing feature in Microsoft Teams. When you hover over an open app's thumbnail in the taskbar, the "Share with Copilot" option will appear. This allows you to quickly start a new conversation with Copilot and use Copilot Vision to scan, analyze, and retrieve information about the app's window contents.
Windows Spotlight
- The desktop context menu now includes options for "Learn more about this background" and "Next desktop background." These options appear when "Windows Spotlight" (Windows Spotlight) is selected as your background in Settings > Personalization > Background.
Settings
- The interface has been updated to make it easier to add and manage accounts in Settings > Accounts. The "Email & Accounts" section is now called "Your Accounts."
Fixes
File Explorer
- Fixed an issue where File Explorer might stop responding when entering a UNC server name directly into the address bar.
Windows Update
- Fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders experiencing error 0x80070002 when installing previous builds.
Audio
- Fixed an issue where some users may have experienced no sound after installing the latest builds. However, audio issues can have various root causes. If you continue to experience issues, please submit feedback through the Feedback Hub.
Settings
- Fixed an issue where the Settings > System > Optional Components > Add an optional component page might not load when administrator protection was enabled.
Known issues
Click to Do
- Launching Click to Do on the primary display using a swipe from the right edge causes visual effects to appear on the other display. This issue is being investigated.
Lock and login screen
- Investigating an issue where media controls may not appear on the lock screen.
Taskbar
- [New] New animations for taskbar app thumbnails have been temporarily disabled because they interfere with the "Share Window" feature, which is located in the thumbnail window.
- [New] There are issues that arose after changes in the previous build when the "Auto-hide the taskbar" option was enabled, including the unexpected appearance of the system tray. Working on a fix.
Search
- Some search queries may cause unexpected text to be displayed instead of the expected results and images.
Windows Studio Effects
- For some types of external webcams, enabling the "Use Windows Studio Effects" option in the camera's advanced settings may cause the preview to fail. This is due to a camera firmware compatibility issue and will be fixed in future updates. If you encounter this issue, disable Windows Studio Effects in the camera's settings.
For developers
- The PIX utility on Windows cannot play GPU recordings on this OS version. This issue will be resolved in the next PIX release, expected by the end of September. If necessary, you can contact the developers on the DirectX Discord server to obtain private builds of the utility.
Settings
- The placeholder text in the Settings app search box may appear vertically offset.
- The Settings app may crash when attempting to access disk information under Settings > System > Storage. This issue also affects access to disk information through the Properties dialog box accessed by right-clicking a disk in File Explorer.
Xbox Controllers
- Some Insiders have encountered an issue where using an Xbox controller via Bluetooth causes a bug check. To resolve this, open Device Manager and select View > Devices by Driver. Find the driver named "oemXXX.inf (XboxGameControllerDriver.inf)" in the list, where "XXX" is the device number on your computer. Right-click it and select Uninstall.
