Widgets

  • Improvements have been made to the Widgets button on the taskbar to make its icons clearer. In addition, the set of animated icons has been expanded.
  • Third-party developers can now send notifications to the Widgets button on the taskbar. The company offers to read the documentation on how to implement this function in its Widgets dashboard. In the Widgets -> Settings -> Notifications section, you can enable or disable taskbar notifications for each existing dashboard.
Note. These changes are only available to Insiders in the European Economic Area (EEA).

Taskbar and system tray

A few months ago, Microsoft was testing a new design for the system tray power saver icon for computers that are plugged in and don't have a battery (like desktop PCs). Several builds ago, the company returned the old version of the icon. This change is also present in build 26100.

    • Fixed an issue where keyboard focus would not move to the top element of a new page after switching pages in Quick Settings.

Input

Fixed a crash in tabtip.exe that could prevent text input.

Window management

Fixed an issue where the option to set different wallpapers on each Fop did not work.

Known Issues

  • [Important Note] Microsoft is investigating reports that some Insiders in the Dev and Canary channels are stuck on build 26040 or 23620. If you want to upgrade to the latest build, you can download the official ISO image and perform a clean install of the system to continue receiving new builds for Dev and Canary channels.
  • Copilot for Windows:
    • [New] Microsoft is aware that some Insiders on the Canary, Dev, and Beta channels have Copilot running automatically after rebooting the computer. The company hopes to fix this issue soon. It is noted that it is not related to the automatic launch, which was tested in early February on the Canary and Dev channels. This feature was discontinued in March.
    • Voice Access is not stable with the new Copilot experience for Windows, which now allows Copilot to appear as a normal app window.
    • The Windows Ink text input feature in Copilot does not work with the updated Copilot interface for Windows.
