Windows 11 Build 26100 could be the final build (RTM) for 24H2

Microsoft has just released Windows 11 build 26100, for insiders on the Dev and Canary channels. This build is considered the main candidate for RTM status, meaning it could be the final version delivered to OEMs for new devices.

Microsoft has moved away from using the term RTM (Release To Manufacturers) as it has evolved in meaning. In the past, an RTM build was the final version released to partners and consumers, but now it is just a stable version lacking planned features.

Windows 11 version 24H2 is set to be completed in July 2024, with all planned features added via cumulative updates. OEMs can expect to receive build number 26100.x next week.

In addition, there is another confirmation for that 26100 can become the final build for 24H2. Its LTSC image has been leaked to the public prior to the official announcement, and it is Build 26100.1.

Insiders using this build will soon be able to exit the Windows Insider program. This version can be used for a clean installation on devices and will receive regular updates and security patches.

Insiders on the Canary channel will start testing preview builds for the next feature update in 2025. Those looking for more stable builds should consider switching to the Beta or Dev channels.
