Microsoft today released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26085 to the Canary and Dev Channels. The Dev and Canary channels are temporarily receiving the same builds. During this period, Insiders can switch from the Canary channel to the Dev channel. This option will no longer be available in the future as higher numbered builds will be released on the Canary channel.

Changes and improvements
Input
A new cursor setting intended for visually impaired Windows users, introduced in build 26052 , has been temporarily disabled in build 26085. Microsoft plans to bring it back after some issues are fixed.
Settings
Windows Insiders who use Bluetooth LE Audio-enabled assistive hearing devices can now set up and manage their devices from Accessibility -> Hearing Aids. This new settings page will allow you to check Bluetooth LE Audio support on your PC and help you pair and set up your hearing aid. This page is under development, so it may change in the future.
Fixes for known issues
Fixed an issue believed to be the root cause of Shut Down and Hibernation not working in the previous build.
File Explorer
- Fixed an issue where the context menu in File Explorer would not display the acrylic effect .
- Fixed an issue where, when opening the context menu in Explorer, icons might appear in the wrong place and overlap with text.
- Fixed an issue that caused GDI objects to leak and use more memory when moving between folders, leading to stability and rendering issues over time.
- A memory leak that occurred when interacting with archives in Explorer has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue that caused Explorer thumbnails to unexpectedly turn black in a previous build.
Sudo for Windows
- Fixed an issue due to which the option to enable SUDO (in the "System" -> "For Developers" section) did not work for some Insiders.
- Fixed an issue due to which the sudo pwsh.
Windows Security
Fixed a crash in the Windows Security app that could cause some Insiders to sometimes have the Windows Security icon missing from the system tray.
Input
Fixed issues with mouse cursor disappearing and other abnormal behavior.
Settings
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Settings app to freeze, preventing you from interacting with any of the pages.
- Fixed an issue where the list of Bluetooth devices in the Bluetooth & Devices section was not readable by screen readers.
Windows Update
- Fixed an issue where Insiders on the Dev channel were experiencing error 0x80070002 when trying to install cumulative updates.
- Fixed an issue where the Update and Shutdown option would not shut down the computer after the update was completed.
Other
- Fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders experiencing a GSOD with a CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION error in the last few flights.
- Fixed an issue resulting in some Insiders experiencing Voice Access crashing when attempting to launch.
- Fixed an issue where a printer might not work with the Print Support Application Matching feature after being renamed .
Known Issues
General
- [Reminder] Some popular games may not work correctly in Canary Channel Insider builds. When running them, a “green screen of death” (GSOD) may occur. If you notice any problems, be sure to leave feedback in the Feedback Center app.
- [Updated] Engineers continue to investigate feedback that when trying to update to the latest build, changes are rolled back with error code 0xC1900101.
- [New] Engineers are working to fix an issue that has caused some insiders to suddenly see File Explorer reverting to its old design without the tabbed interface and other changes.
Copilot for Windows
- Voice Access is not stable with the new Copilot experience for Windows, which now allows Copilot to appear as a normal app window.
- The Windows Ink text input feature in Copilot does not work with the updated Copilot interface for Windows.
- If Copilot for Windows is displayed as a sidebar and the window width is increased, sometimes Copilot will not take up all of the panel space. Resizing to less than half the screen width usually solves the problem.
- In the updated Copilot interface, you will not be able to move focus to "..." or other buttons when using the keyboard (for example, navigating through buttons using the Tab key does not work).
