Changes and improvements

General

    • This update includes a small number of improvements and fixes designed to improve the overall experience of the operating system.

File Explorer

    • Microsoft has resumed testing a change so that when you open folders from outside File Explorer (such as from an app or the desktop), they will open in a new tab by default if you already have a File Explorer window open. If you want folders to still open in a new window, you can change the behavior in Folder Options > Browse for folders. The change has been disabled in build 22635.4800 to address reported issues.
    • A change that added text descriptions to the Cut, Copy, Paste, Rename, Share, and Delete buttons in File Explorer's context menu has been disabled. Insiders can update to Windows 11 version 24H2, where this change is still available.

Fixes

Start Menu

    • Fixed an issue where, when using a larger text size, the Sign Out and More options buttons might not appear in the Account Manager in the Start menu.

File Explorer

    • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused File Explorer to crash when copying or renaming files.

Input

    • Fixed an issue where typing in some applications could cause them to stop working after disconnecting from a remote desktop session.

Known issues

Start Menu

These issues only apply to the new Grid and Categories views:

    • When you right-click an application, the Start Menu Settings context menu appears for a moment before the application's context menu appears.
