Windows 11 Build 22635.4005 (Beta) comes with stability improvements

A new Beta channel release, Windows 11 Build 22635.4005 (KB5040555), comes with several fixes and general improvements. There are no new features this time.

Note: The changes below require the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" toggle to be enabled.

This update includes a small number of improvements and fixes designed to improve the overall experience of the operating system.

Fixes

Fixed an issue that in previous builds caused explorer.exe to occasionally crash while using the computer.

Known issues

  • New: Working on a fix for an issue causing explorer.exe to crash for some Insiders when closing apps from the taskbar.
  • Insiders in the Beta channel who have access to the updated Recent, Favorites, and Shared sections on the File Explorer home page may encounter the following issues:
    • Keyboard focus may be lost when selecting an unselected tab.
  • Working on a fix for an issue where the emoji panel would close when trying to switch to the Symbols or Kaomoji sections after selecting an emoji.
