Microsoft today released Windows 11 Build 22635.2700 to Insiders in the Beta channel. It doesn't contain many changes, but fixes an annoying bug. The desktop shadows option is now working properly.
What's new in Windows 11 Build 22635.2700 (Beta)
- Fixed an issue where the setting to disable the shadow for desktop shortcut names would not work.
- Known issue: A bug may cause the Snipping Tool app to crash on ARM-based devices.
As a reminder, the Beta channel is currently not differentiating builds by numbers. This means that all insiders will receive the same build. However, Microsoft plans to introduce new features through the Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) technology, starting with build 22635. The revision number (the value after the dot, such as .2419) will increase with each weekly update. It should be noted that this build number is specific to the Beta channel and is unlikely to be used elsewhere.
Insiders who wish to stay updated on the latest developments as they happen can activate the "Get the latest updates as they're available" toggle in the Settings -> Windows Update menu. This option will gradually unlock additional features over time. If you choose to disable this option, new features will appear on your computer gradually once they are ready.
