In the near future, Windows will no longer support TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols. Microsoft reminds that currently available versions of Windows, such as Windows 11 22H2 and 21H2, as well as Windows 10, will continue to support these protocols. But this will end in Windows 11 version 23H2 that comes with fall.
The changes will take effect with the release of the 23H2 update and its successor, "Windows 12", next year. In September 2023, TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 will be disabled by default in Windows 11 Insider Preview builds.
However, customers can choose to enable them for compatibility purposes. TLS is a widely used protocol for secure communication between clients and servers. But due to security concerns, tech industry is mostly against using versions 1.0 and 1.1 in recent apps.
