Microsoft today released Windows 11, version 22H2 to all insiders in the Release Preview channel. It is also available on devices enrolled in the Windows Insider program for Business. They receive the same build 22621 which is known to be RTM.
Regular participants (i.e. consumers) can get version 22H2 using the "seeker" experience in Settings > Windows Update. This means the update offer remains optional.
To show the installation option, the device must meet Windows 11 hardware requirements. If so, on the Windows Update page, there will be an option to download and install Windows 11, version 22H2 Build 22621.
Once an Insider updates their PC to Windows 11, version 22H2, they will continue to automatically receive new servicing updates through Windows Update (the typical monthly update process).
Also, Microsoft notes that commercial devices, if configured to receive updates from the RP channel via Settings, Group Policy, or Intune, will be offered to install version 22H2. System administrators can use it to validate customer configurations and hardware compatibility with the newest Windows 11 release.
Windows 11, version 22H2 is also now available via Windows Server Update Service and Azure Marketplace.
Microsoft also offers free support for Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions. Devices with these editions must belong to an organization, e.g. be part of a domain.
