A new Windows 10 preview, Build 19045.4593 (KB5039299) is coming to Insiders on the Beta and Release Preview channels. Insiders on the Beta and Release Preview channels will receive the same builds of Windows 10, but the Beta channel will test new features that are in development and not yet ready for public distribution.
Fixes in the Beta channel
Search on the taskbar
- Several fixes have been implemented to improve the stability of the application search in the search bar on the taskbar.
Windows Backup
- Now you can easily back up and restore personalized settings, including activity history and printer settings, independent of connected hardware or accessories. We are talking about settings such as “Allow Windows to manage the default printer” and “Keep activity history on this device.” The goal is to ensure that the most frequently used settings are backed up, while avoiding those that are hardware specific. This should make the process of switching to a new PC easier.
- Improved performance of the settings backup and restore function. Specifically, Fixed an issue that caused the backup process to fail because the desktop and lock screen background images were copied twice.
Insiders who want to receive the new features first to know what's rolling out over time can turn on the "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" toggle under Settings > Windows Update. It will enable more features over time. If this option is disabled, new features will gradually appear on your computer as they are ready.
