Microsoft is releasing a new cumulative update to Insiders in the Release Preview ring running Windows 10 version 1809. The patch KB4490481 is now available via the Windows Update service.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the official change log for this patch. The update is supposed to include the following fixes:
- Addresses an issue in Microsoft HoloLens with tracking and device calibration that has affected some users. You may notice changes in 10-15 minutes installing the update. It is recommended to reset HoloLens in order to apply updates faster.
- Addresses an issue that may cause users to receive “Error 1309” while installing or uninstalling certain types of MSI and MSP files.
- Addresses an issue that may decrease graphics and mouse performance with desktop gaming when playing certain games, such as Destiny 2.
- Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Shell, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers, Windows Server, Windows Linux, Windows Hyper-V, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows Wireless Networking, the Microsoft JET Database Engine, Windows Kernel, Windows, and Windows Fundamentals.
The Release Preview ring is made for users who like to get access to updates, and first-party apps for the stable branch of the OS some time before the general public gets it. Due to this nature of the Release Preview ring, we can expect to see KB4482887 released to the production branch already by next week. By that time, we should get the official change log.
