Windows 10 20H2 is now ready for broad deployment

Each Windows 10 version has a dedicated page in the official documentation where the company keeps track of all the known issues and posts various updates. Users can get relevant information about the "health" of a particular release and its current condition. With Windows 10 21H1 now officially out, Microsoft changed status for the previous version, Windows 10 20H2.

According to the Windows 10 health dashboard page, Windows 10 20H2 is now ready for broad deployment. That means the company no longer throttles the distribution, and the release is now available for everyone running older Windows 10 versions.

We recommend checking the documentation before updating your computer to make sure there are no known issues that affect your configuration.

Speaking of Windows 10 21H1, which is in its early stages of the lifecycle, Microsoft offers the update only for "seekers." In other words, you can get this version only if you manually check for new updates in Windows Settings. Besides, Microsoft limits the rollout scale to prevent potential bugs and widespread issues. As more and more users install the new release, Microsoft slowly increases the speed and offers the update to a bigger audience.

In case you missed it, Microsoft recently stopped supporting several Windows 10 versions as they reach the end of life. The company no longer provides updates for Windows 10 1909 for Home, Professional, and Professional for Workstations SKUs. From now, only Windows 10 2004, 20H2, and 21H1 receive new updates, patches, and improvements. If you are running outdated Windows 10 versions, Microsoft will force update your device to Windows 10 20H2.
