Microsoft has updated the Release Preview channel for Insiders running Windows 10. The patch KB5005101 is now available for both Windows 10, version 21H1, and version 21H2, and comes with a single fix.
We fixed an issue that causes the Windows Update settings page to stop responding after you download an optional update.
Besides the above change, the patch includes all the changes included in the previously released updates 19043.1200 and 19044.1200.
It is worth noting that Microsoft has released this updates in a different way. Insiders running 21H2 will receive the patch automatically. However, to Insiders in the Release Preview channel running 21H1 this update is offered via “seeker” experience in Windows Update. Also, it will be available ONLY to Insiders who were moved from the Beta Channel to the Release Preview Channel because their PC did not meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11. This means these Insiders will need to go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and choose to download and install Windows 10, version 21H2.
Windows 10, version 21H2, will become available later this fall. It is a minor update that doesn't have a lot of changes. It is notable for supporting WPA3 H2E for better Wi-Fi security, and a few improvements made to Windows Hello for Business and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).
