Winamp relaunches as on March 15 as a Streaming Service with Music Subscriptions

Llama Group (formerly Radionomy Group) is relaunching the Winamp project on March 15 as a streaming service with musician subscriptions. The company is expecting to attract 1 million musicians to the platform. The key highlights are as follows.

The redesigned Winamp desktop player.
  • The new Winamp service will be available for musicians from March 15.
  • All users will be able to use the new service starting April 15.
  • Creators will be able to define prices themselves, e.g. for subscriptions for their content. They will receive 85% of the income from subscriptions, and can expect some help with music licensing.
  • The Winamp app will remain available cross-platform. It will support Windows, Android, iOS, and also adds a web version.
