Here is good news for all Winaero readers. Finally, I have switched the website to https. Here are some details.
HTTPS is now enabled on Winaero, and now it is the default. I have configured automatic redirection from plain HTTP to the SSL-protected protocol.
If you load the default site, you will get redirected. I also did my best to try to get rid of mixed content warnings, that is, when some content is not loaded by the browser because it is not served over https. It looks like the goal is achieved. All of the site's content should load fine and there should not be any mixed content warnings.
The HTTPS encryption is provided by Let's Encrypt. It is free and very easy to connect to your existing web site. HTTPS on Winaero was highly requested by your emails and I am happy to say that it is done.
I haven't enabled HTTP/2 yet. I need to perform a number of tests and ensure that everything works as expected. I am going to enable this feature soon.

Thank you
You are welcome.
Perfect. Very nice job.
Great news, keep it up mate.
Great development. I also hope you could add a search feature to your blog. It’ll be very useful.
Google is your search. Type your search terms followed by site:winaero.com to find anything.
Nice work! And continuing thanks and appreciation for all the masses of information and tools that you provide.
SUGGESTION: I find things on your site using a Google search. Do you have any plans to provide your own search engine or index? I know that this is huge job.
‘Categories’ below is very useful, but could the initial summaries of the articles possibly be dated? (I’m assuming it’s just a case of adding a field to the summary.)
Just saying, what is the benefit for this?
From google:
Hmm., interesting. It certainly makes the site more secure. I’ll look up the performance improvements if there are any on my own. Thank you.
I believe that in this specific case the comments you type and articles you visit would be encrypted. Hence making it tougher / impossible for someone to track you.
We still need a new comment tool or at least an ability to get notified when someone replies to your comment.
Nice job, the transition was seamless.
Nice job :)
Thank you.
