For a while now, we have known about the end of support for Windows Phone, and developers of major apps that were available for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 10 Mobile slowly began to remove their apps from the platform.
Now that the Windows Phone 8 Store has stopped working, and the company is ending support for Windows 10 Mobile on January 14th, WhatsApp have made the move to remove the app from the Microsoft Store.
As spotted by Aggiornamentilumia, WhatsApp is no longer available to download from the Microsoft Store for Windows Mobile devices. It will stop working, for those that still have it installed, in five days.
WhatsApp was known as one of the largest developers for Windows Phone, and they updated the app with new features all the time, to stay in line with the latest iOS and Android versions. It's now unfortunate but to say that users of Windows Phone are best recommended to move to a support mobile platform (such as iOS or Android), where apps will continue to work and stay up to date for years to come.
