The team behind the most innovative Vivaldi browser released a new snapshot of the upcoming version of the app. Vivaldi 2.2.1373.4 adds numbers to the first 9 items in the Window menu for faster switching.
Vivaldi was started with the promise of giving you a highly customizable, full-featured, innovative browser. It looks like its developers kept their promise - there is no other browser on the market which offers the same amount of options and features. While Vivaldi is built on Chrome's engine, power users are the target user base, like the classic Opera 12 browser. Vivaldi was created by former Opera co-founder and developed keeping in mind Opera's usability and power.
Today, the new build of Vivaldi adds the extra way to switch between tabs.
Numbered menu accelerators
As you may already know, Vivaldi offers a number of way to switch between open tabs.
- Mouse clicks on the Tab bar, Window menu or Window panel
- Filtering based on a search in Quick Commands or the Window panel
- Ctrl+[Num] to jump based on numbered position
- Ctrl+Tab (and cycle)—Perhaps with a cycler
- Mapping a mouse gesture
These different methods suit different users’ work flows.
In addition to them, it is possible to use numbered menu accelerators. Starting in build 1373.4, the first 9 tabs in the Window menu have numbers, so you can use them to go to the desired tab quickly. Press Alt+w to open it and then type the number of the tab you want to switch to.
