After releasing new firmware for the third-gen Surface Book several days ago, Microsoft pushed another set of patches, this time for Surface Go 2.
Surface Go 2 is the second generation of the most affordable Surface tablet from Microsoft. It offers an 11-inch display with Intel Pentium or Core M3 processors. Users can configure the device with 4 or 8GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB SSD, and pick an optional version with cellular connectivity. The base model starts at $399.

September 2021 firmware update for Surface Go 2 fixes a critical security vulnerability and improves overall system stability. Also, it improves PXE boot performance and "driver to support service."

According to Microsoft, the update contains no known issues.
You can download September 2021 firmware update for all Surface Go 2 models (Wi-Fi and LTE) if your computer runs Windows 10 1903 (May 2019 Update) or higher. To get the latest patches, go to Windows Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update. Firmware updates for Surface Go 2 are also available for manual installation on the official website. Microsoft will continue providing support for the second-gen Surface Go at least until May 6, 2024.
On September 22, Microsoft holds a special Surface event. Rumors claim the company will unveil the next generation of Surface Pro, a new high-performance Surface Book successor, and a third-gen Surface Go.
