A new update to the built-in Sticky Notes app in Windows 10 has landed for the Store. The new version of the app features a refined user interface of the New Note menu, a new app icon, performance improvements, and more.
Sticky Notes is a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app which debuted in Windows 10 Anniversary Update and comes with a number of features which the classic desktop app didn't have. With Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Microsoft discontinued the classic Desktop app "Sticky Notes". Now, its place is taken by a new app with the same name. The new app lets you create Cortana reminders from your notes. You can type a phone number and have it recognize it, and recognize URLs too which you can open in Edge. You can create check lists and use it with Windows Ink.
The updated Sticky Notes is now available to Insiders in the Fast Ring. The new app version is version 2.1.14.0.
The official change log mentions the following changes.
- New App Icon. Isn't it pretty?
- New Note Menu design. We may be biased, but it looks great!
- Performance Improvements. We've heard that Sticky Notes is taking a while to open, so we fixed that.
- Support for Enterprise MDM policies.
- Support for the App Preview Program.
- Loads of other small bug fixes!
You can get the app from its Store page:

If you are interested in trying pre-release versions of the app, you can join the Windows App Preview program with the Sticky Notes app.
Finally, if you don't like the Sticky Notes Store app, you can get the good old classic Sticky Notes app. This is the page to get it:

For many users, the classic Desktop app is the more preferable option. It works faster, starts faster and has no Cortana integration.
