Steam: Windows 11 now has almost 20% of users

The updated Steam report shows that Windows 11's popularity continues to grow among gamers. The positive dynamic does now show great numbers, but still in raises in percent. It has moved from  18.94% in April to 19.59% in May 2022.

The overall market segmentation didn't change much. Windows 10 remains the top used OS on Steam.

  • Windows 10 64 bit holds the first place with 73.89% by showing the 0.34% growth.
  • Windows 11 64 bit is on the second place, with 19.59%. This is 0.65% more than in April.
  • Windows 7 64 bit is on the third place (2.41%, -0.52%).

Windows 8.1, 32-bit Windows 10 and Windows 7 have a very small percent of popularity. Traditionally, there are 2.2% of devices running MacOS, and 1,12% of gamers using Linux. Arch Linux and Ubuntu remain the most popular distros.

The report shows that Intel 4 core CPUs are most popular in gaming devices. On the GPU side, NVIDIA GTX 1060 is the most popular video card with 8GB of memory. Most computers have 16GB RAM. Full HD (1920 x 1080) displays are most widely used by gamers in May 2022.
