Snipping Tool with Text Extractor is now available to Windows 11 Insiders

Microsoft has released an update for the Snipping Tool app (version 11.2503.27.0) to Windows 11 Insiders using Dev and Canary channel builds. The app now includes a "Text Extractor" button in the capture toolbar. This addition makes text extraction more convenient, as it directly starts the OCR  of the screen selection. Taking a dedicated screenshot to use with OCR is no longer necessary.

To use the new feature, open Snipping Tool with Win + Shift + S or launch the app and then click the new Text Extractor button on the toolbar. Then select the area you want to scan for text.

You can then manually select the text you want to copy to the clipboard. You can click the Copy All Text button on the toolbar to quickly copy all the text from the selected area.

In the More Options drop-down menu, you'll find options like Remove Line Breaks. You can also make the process even more easier by enabling the Automatically Copy Text option, which will automatically copy all the text from the selected area to the clipboard and immediately close the Snipping Tool.
