Windows 10 comes with a special version of Skype pre-installed. It is a modern Store app that is in active development. Microsoft pushes it over the classic Desktop app, adds essential features which were exclusive to the classic version of Skype.

The new Skype UWP app has a very streamlined user interface. It follows the modern trend of flat minimalist design with glyph icons and no borders anywhere. This design is being used in all other Microsoft products.

Starting in version 8.40.0.70, Skype includes the option to send email notifications about missed calls and messages.

The new options can be found under the Notifications section of Settings.

They are enabled by default. If you are not happy to receive an email for every missed call or messages, you can to turn off them.

Skype for Windows 10 is available on the Store. If you have automatic updates enabled in the Microsoft Store app, this update should already be installed on your device. If not, head to its page in the Store and hit the update button. If you don't have Skype installed, you can also grab it from there.
