My freeware, Ribbon Disabler, allows you to enable and disable the Ribbon UI in File Explorer in Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 8with just one click. Let's see what's new in this release.
In version 3.0, I made the following change.
if you upgraded a previous Windows version, the application now is able to detect it. It will not allow you to restore the Ribbon using older system files. Instead, you must disable the Ribbon again and will be prompted to do so.
If you have upgraded your OS from an earlier Windows release, please download Ribbon Disabler 3.0 first and then use it to disable the Ribbon. Don't use previous releases of Ribbon Disabler, or you will end with a black screen.

After upgrading to Windows 10 1903 Build 18362.145 I received the following error when I ran RibbonDisabler:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
EndUpdateResource Failed 13.
Is this enough info?

Thanks for checking!
Love this app by the way…
