New Privacy Options in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

During the ongoing development of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, Microsoft introduced new privacy options in the OS. The company has tried to make the privacy policy more transparent for the end user and explicitly show which data is being collected.
Earlier with Windows 10 Creators Update, Microsoft released the Privacy Dashboard tool. Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, the next feature update to Windows 10, is coming with a number of privacy enhancements.

Privacy Statement Explained

During the system setup process, users will be given access to Microsoft's Privacy Statement directly.

In addition, it will be possible to navigate quickly to different privacy settings such as ads, diagnostics, location, and tailored experiences. A special “learn more” section explains how the collected location, speech recognition, diagnostics, tailored experiences, and ad data will be used.

App Permission Confirmation

In Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, apps installed from the Windows Store will show a special dialog when they need access to the camera, contacts, and other personal information and options.

Android users should be familiar with this feature, as it exists in Android for a long time.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is expected to be released on October 17, 2017. These new features will come to the production branch at the same time. Unfortunately, there is no official way to completely disable telemetry and data collection in Windows 10 even with these updates to privacy.
