A new beta version of Opera 65 is out, featuring the Chromium engine 78.0.3904.21 under the hood. This release finally includes a long awaited fix for Netflix. Besides that, it allows enabling DNS over HTTPS.
If you are an Opera and Netflix user, this update should resolve all Netflix issues for you.
Also, in this beta version you can enable DNS over HTTPS.
DNS-over-HTTPS is a relatively young web protocol, implement about two years ago. It is intended to increase user privacy and security by preventing eavesdropping and manipulation of DNS data by man-in-the-middle attacks by using the HTTPS protocol to encrypt the data between the DoH client and the DoH-based DNS resolver. The primary benefit of DoH is that it allows hiding your DNS traffic in the "common" stream of HTTPS traffic on the Internet.
In this beta release there is a flag (opera://flags/#opera-doh) that enables DNS over HTTPS (DoH) through Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1 server. It is still experimental, so you might face issues using it. Also, if requests can’t be handled by Cloudflare, the browser falls back to your local DNS server. This is so you can still use Opera on internal networks or behind firewalls.
This option is available when flag #opera-doh
is enabled.
