Microsoft has once again updated its Android version of the OneDrive client, adding one of the most frequently requested features for Premium users. Premium users of OneDrive can now mark entire folders to be available in offline mode. The offline mode itself isn't new to the app but previously its users were able to download only single files for future use.
Without a Premium OneDrive subscription which is part of Office 365 Personal, Solo and Home subscriptions, this feature is not available. Microsoft is working on bringing it to other Office 365 plans for work and education but there's no estimate on when it will be available.
There is one more change mentioned in the official change log for this app update, besides the mentioned offline folder view:
- We've updated the design of our Discover view so that you now have access to a feed of the most relevant content from across your company (work and education accounts only).
The OneDrive app update is already available through Google Play and should be already installed if you're using the auto update feature. If you haven't tried the app yet, you can download it from its Play store page.
