Today, at the Microsoft Ignite conference in Orlando, Florida, USA, Microsoft announced the next version of their popular Office suite. The upcoming version will have a number of preview versions during 2018. The final version, titled Office 2019 is expected to be released in second half of 2018.
The company will start releasing Office 2019 Preview releases around the middle of 2018. As is the tradition, it will include the updated versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, etc. The Office product family will get updates for Exchange and SharePoint as well.
The official announcement describes the upcoming update as follows:
Office 2019 will add new user and IT capabilities for customers who aren’t yet ready for the cloud. For example, new and improved inking features—like pressure sensitivity, tilt effects, and ink replay—will allow you to work more naturally. New formulas and charts will make data analysis for Excel more powerful. Visual animation features—like Morph and Zoom—will add polish to PowerPoint presentations. Server enhancements will include updates to IT manageability, usability, voice, and security.
