NVIDIA released GPU drivers with official Windows 11 and DLAA support

Back in June 2021, NVIDIA released its first WHQL Game Ready driver with official Windows 11 support. That release, alongside subsequent updates, let users with Windows 11 preview builds utilize optimized GPU drivers and get better performance. With Windows 11 being just two weeks from public availability, NVIDIA released a new driver with the official support for the initial Windows 11 release on October 5, 2021.

Version 472.12 WHQL is now available to all users with compatible hardware. The release includes both Game Ready and Studio drivers (the latter contains optimizations for professional software). The official optimization for the release version of Windows 11 means users can access DirectX 12 Ultimate on GeForce RTX GPUs, use Windows Auto HDR, and the DirectStorage technology. In addition to the official Windows 11 support, driver 472.12 brings DLSS to 28 more games. NVIDIA's Deep Learning Super Sampling improves FPS by using AI to upscale image resolution without major hits on the GPU's performance. With the latest driver from NVIDIA, more than 100 games now support DLSS.

Also, gamers can enjoy a new technology called Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing. It leverages the same technology behind DLSS, but instead of upscaling, DLAA maximizes image quality while working with a native resolution. DLAA is a new feature that still needs some test flights before coming to more games. The first implementation of DLAA is now available on the Elder Scrolls Online test servers.

Finally, driver 472.12 brings support for the following upcoming titles: Alan Wake Remastered, Diablo II: Resurrected, Far Cry 6, Hot Wheels Unleashed, Industria, New World, and World War Z: Aftermath.
