Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 users may no longer see the password authentication button on the login screen. The issue only occurs if multiple login methods are configured on the computer, such as a PIN, fingerprint scanner, and password.

Microsoft's support site reveals that the issue was introduced in the optional update KB5064081, released in August 2025, and persists in all subsequent updates for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2.
However, this is only a visual issue. The button for switching to password login is in its usual place and works correctly, but for some reason it appears without any icon and with no border.
As a temporary workaround, Microsoft suggests simply hovering your cursor over the desired button and clicking it. A text area will then appear on the screen, allowing you to enter your password to log in.
Microsoft is already working to fix the problem. You can track the progress on this page.
