Microsoft won’t release new builds for Windows Insiders until 2017

Since the holidays are around the corner, Microsoft has decided to not release any more builds for its Windows Insider program this year. The reason for that, according to the program's head Dona Sarkar, is that the company doesn't want to ship a build with a possible breaking bug and have Insider Preview members dealing with it during the holidays.

All of the recent build candidates for the Fast Ring weren't good enough for rollout according to Microsoft employees. So instead of releasing a new build in the remaining days of the year, the company will focus on fixing known issues in build 14986 that was recently pushed to the Slow ring.

Microsoft is also going to release official ISO images of the said build some time this week so if you're interested in getting it you might want to check the official Windows Insider Program site later.

Microsoft is expected to finish the development of Windows 10 Creators Update in the first quarter of 2017 so expect more of the announced features to arrive in Insider builds in January. The most recent build as of this writing is Windows 10 build 14986. See the following articles:
