Microsoft to release a new Redstone build next week

The Windows Insiders program went quiet after the release of Windows 10 build 11082. Although this build was released for the Fast Ring, new builds are not coming regularly enough. Here is some news from Microsoft which Gabe Aul, VP of Engineering in Windows and Devices Group shared via his Twitter.

According to him, Microsoft employees have returned from their holiday vacations and started working on new builds.

Aul also reiterated that once flighted builds begin in 2016, we can expect to see more frequent builds than last year. Next week could also see the official roll out of Windows 10 Mobile, rumored to take place on Tuesday, January 12th, which also falls on Patch Tuesday. Windows Phone 8.1 devices that support the upgrade path to Windows 10 Mobile could be prompted to upgrade on that day, although this information has not been confirmed yet.

Windows 10 build 11082 has partial extensions support in Microsoft Edge and broken MUI support. Besides these, I found no other differences from the stable release, Windows 10 build 10586.

This is definitely good news for those who follow Windows 10 development and participate in the Windows Insider program. So, starting next week or so, we should be able to lay our hands on a new Windows 10 Redstone build (Credits for this news go to via).
