Microsoft has confirmed that the "next generation Windows" announcement event will take place on June 24. This was announced on Twitter by Panos Panay, who since last year is responsible not only for Surface devices, but also for the client version of Windows. A number of journalists and online media also received invitations to the event.

Recall that just last week, Satya Nadella said at the Build 2021 developer conference that Microsoft is preparing to present "one of the most significant Windows updates in the last decade."
It is expected that the new version of the OS will include a large number of visual changes, which are being worked on in the project, codenamed Sun Valley. Most likely, all these improvements will become available to Insiders immediately after the upcoming presentation.
Interestingly, both Satya Nadella and Panos Panay, now in charge of the Windows client, refer to this update as "Next Generation Windows" and not just "Windows 10". This may indicate that the company is planning a name change for Windows. So far, these are only assumptions, but it is not known what will happen in the near future.
