The Microsoft Teams app is now available in the Microsoft Store. Users can install the client software on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft has actually announced its intention to bring the app to the Store in the 365 roadmap about a month ago.
If you're using Windows 11, the Microsoft Store version of Teams will only support work and school accounts. That's because of the Chat app, which is a Teams client for personal accounts. Windows 11 has it preinstalled. Users can directly open Chat with the icon on the taskbar.
But Teams for Windows 10 supports personal, work, and school accounts. Microsoft's intention is to provide the similar experience Windows 11 user have to those who run Windows 10.
In fact, Teams from the Microsoft Store works exactly the same as the version downloaded from the official website. Even the app updates are made through their own mechanism, not through the store.
Interested users can get the Teams app from the Store using this link. Its availability has been announced on Twitter.
