The company distributed the anniversary Surface Laptop 7 to select participants through a competition. The device includes several memorable design elements, including a gold Microsoft logo on the exterior and a reproduction of the 1975 Microsoft logo displayed on the inside when the laptop opens.

These units feature custom firmware that introduces a special boot logo designed for the occasion. They also ship with a distinct variant of the Bloom wallpaper, created specifically to mark five decades since Microsoft's founding.

The golden-themed wallpaper is not available through standard distribution channels. It comes preinstalled only on the 50th anniversary Surface Laptop 7, making it one of the rarest versions of the Windows 11 background to date.

Access to the wallpaper has been secured through acquisition of the anniversary device. The image is now available for download at the following link: Download the 50th Anniversary Bloom Wallpaper.

The original Bloom wallpaper debuted in 2021 alongside Windows 11. It features an abstract blue floral design available in light and dark modes. Digital artist Six N. Five created the artwork, continuing a collaboration with Microsoft on Surface device visuals.

Over time, Microsoft released several variations. Windows 365 devices use a version with a refined glass-like texture. The Windows 365 Link includes an enhanced transparent rendition of the same design.

Additional color-matched versions of Bloom have accompanied various Surface models, aligning with the device's physical color. In 2024, Microsoft updated the wallpaper for Copilot+ PCs, adopting the color scheme of the Copilot brand identity.
