Microsoft today released a new Dev channel build to Insiders. Build 22543 includes improvements made to Narrator and Windows snap layout, along with a good set of fixes and generic improvements.
What’s new in Windows 11 Build 22543
Narrator
- Starting in 22543, Narrator supports two more natural voices, “Jenny” and “Aria”. Natural Narrator voices are available in English-U.S.
- New Narrator keyboard commands.
- Narrator + Alt + the Minus key – Move to the previous voice in Narrator’s voice settings combo box.
- Narrator + Alt + the Plus key – Move to the next voice in Narrator’s voice settings combo box.
- Updated Narrator keyboard commands:
- Narrator + Alt + the Left Bracket key – Move to the previous punctuation reading mode.
- Narrator + Alt + the Right Bracket key – Move to the next punctuation reading mode.
Visual updates
- The Lock Screen media controls now follow the overall style of Windows 11.
- Snap layouts will draw the app icon over the acrylic blur background for snapped windows.
- Using the WIN + ALT + K keyboard shortcut to mute your call will now show a confirmation flyout.
- The updated keyboard layout switcher is now available to all Insiders.
- Progress rings for the build upgrade experience now have the same look as the boot screen.
- Updated the design of System > Storage > Disks & Volume and Storage Spaces in Settings to align with the overall design of Settings in Windows 11. Some of its options are now available inline without diving into subpages.
