Shorty after making version 24H2 upgrade to most Windows 11 users, Microsoft does the same for those who on Windows 10. The company has published Windows 11 24H2 as an option for eligible devices running Windows 10, version 22H2. The upgrade is not forced, the newest OS appears as an optional action for 'seekers'.
The company states the following.
Starting this week, we are expanding this latest Windows version’s phased rollout. We are gradually offering this update also to eligible devices running Windows 10, version 22H2.
If you have an eligible Windows 10 or Windows 11 device, you can check if the update is available by selecting Settings > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates. If your device is ready for the update, you’ll see the option to Download and install Windows 11, version 24H2.
Microsoft emphasis that only consumer devices are affected. Domain joined and managed devices won't be upgraded.
So, if you are running Windows 10 22H2, Windows 11 24H2 should be visible for you as an optional update. Obviously, your device should not have upgrade-blocking issues.
But if your computer is running Windows 11 22H2 or Windows 23H2 (Home or Pro), Microsoft will eventually force update you to the latest OS.
