Earlier this month, we learned about Microsoft's plans to introduce a new Feedback website for various services and apps to replace the aging UserVoice platform. It did not take too long for Microsoft to launch the Feedback portal. It is now available in preview for all users to publish their feedback about Microsoft Teams and Edge. The software giant announced the Feedback portal in a post on the Tech Community Forums.
What is the Feedback portal
The Feedback portal lets you submit feedback about Microsoft Teams and Edge, browse posts from other people, track responses from Microsoft, and upvote messages. Microsoft also allows users to add posts to favorites and receive notifications for easier tracking along the way. Finally, there is a sidebar for sorting posts by categories and platforms.
As users publish posts, they can expect Microsoft to provide a status tag and additional message, such as "we got it," "we are looking into this," "we have added this," "not right now," etc. You can find the list of full tags on the Feedback portal in the official documentation, where Microsoft also describes additional ways to send feedback about its products.
Software categories
It appears that Microsoft will gradually increase the scale of its new Feedback portal. The initial post about the incoming platform revealed that Microsoft plans to include Edge, Teams, Microsoft 365, and Windows. As of now, the Feedback portal accepts posts related only to Teams, Edge, and the portal itself.
New Feedback Portal is a public preview
Note that the new Feedback portal is a public preview, and Microsoft does not provide specific timings about the general availability. Until then, you can continue using Feedback Hub to send your feedback about Windows 10 and Windows 11. Also, many of the Microsoft products have built-in forms and tools for sending feedback and sharing ideas with Microsoft.
You can access the new Feedback portal using this link. To send feedback and create posts, you need to sign in with your Microsoft Account.
