The Xbox team starts a series of experiments to find the best solution for building the best experience for Xbox home page. They try to create a more personalized dashboard based on contribution and feedback from users. Starting this week, some Xbox Insiders on the Alpha Skip-Ahead channel will notice changes to the layout and design of the dashboard. There will be new groups of gaming content and collections that appear in the below area when you scroll the screen.
The first flight of preview updates will include the following changes.
- The new “Jump back in” row gives you quick access to your most recently played games and apps.
- Easily access important system apps like Settings, Store, Search and My Games & Apps with their own dedicated tiles on Xbox Home.
- Consistent design and visual identifiers with updated layouts to keep the experience familiar.
- When you scroll down, you’ll see curated categories and recommendations tailored to your gaming preferences.
Xbox users have been asking Microsoft for months to update the design of the Xbox Home interface. Specifically, they called for less or no ads, more dynamic wallpapers, and better customization of the Xbox home screen. The first update of the dashboard design does not implement these wishes, but Microsoft has time to improve the software over the next months.
So, in the coming months, Microsoft will continue to refine the dashboard UI based on users' feedback. The full release of the new Xbox home screen will take place in 2023.
