Not so long ago, Microsoft notified users about increasing the Windows 11 rollout speed to allow more compatible computers with slightly older hardware to get the latest operating system via Windows Update. Now Microsoft is ready to offer Windows 11 to even more users.
The company says their telemetry data shows a consistently high rate of positive update experience and user feedback from eligible devices. That allows Microsoft to make Windows 11 upgrade broadly available much faster than the company intended.
"In our first phases of the Windows 11 rollout we are consistently seeing a high rate of positive update experiences and user feedback for eligible devices, identified using our latest generation machine learning model. Based on this data, we are advancing the pace of the rollout faster than we originally announced, and now making the Windows 11 upgrade more broadly available to eligible Windows 10 devices."
Microsoft will continue monitoring the rollout and train its machine learning algorithms to determine what devices should receive Windows 11 via Windows Update. If you have a compatible computer and it does not "see" the latest operating system in Windows Update, check out the list of known issues and bugs.
Microsoft recently updated the Windows 11 Health Dashboard page with a new known bug in systems with specific Intel SST drivers. To prevent blue screens of death and overall bad user experience, Microsoft blocks installing Windows 11 on affected systems until users install updated Intel SST drivers.
Another issue affects users with Oracle VirtualBox that prevents virtual machines from launching.
Microsoft recently released an absolutely humongous preview update for Windows 11 in the Beta and Release Preview channel. You can learn about the upcoming bug fixes in our dedicated post. Perhaps, it will help you decide whether it is time to pull the trigger and move from Windows 10 to 11.
