Microsoft has published its earnings report for the Q2 2022 fiscal quarter. Revenue for the specified period amounted to $51.7 billion; net income - $18.8 billion. For comparison, for the same period last year, revenue was $ 43.1 billion; net profit — $15.5 billion.
The earnings raised thanks to Office, Windows, and online services the company sells via a variety of subscriptions. The software is playing such an important role is sales due to a huge number of people working from home because of situation with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Both Windows 10 and Windows 11 are being used on 1.4 billion devices according to monthly stats.

- Income from server products and cloud services increased by 29%;
- Revenue from Azure grew by 46%;
- Windows OEM revenue up 25%;
- Revenue from commercial Windows products and cloud services grew by 13%;
- The revenue of the gaming division grew by 10%;
- Search advertising revenue grew by 32%;
- Surface revenue grew 8%.
Keep in mind that the fiscal year is not the same as the calendar year. The fiscal year starts on July 1 and ends on June 30.
