The Windows Insider team has suspended the roll-out of Windows 11 build 26236 on the Canary channel. This information now appears in the official blog post published on June 12, 2024. The company promises that the Canary channel will again receive updates in the near future.
It is currently unknown what the reason for this decision is. There have been no statements from the Windows Insider team yet.
The Community portal made a guess that this has something to do with the start of sales of Copilot+ devices and the Windows Recall feature, the security of which has raised serious questions among cybersecurity experts. Microsoft is preparing a newer Recall version, and perhaps needs to block the existing controversial implementation from the being used by the public.
Earlier Microsoft also temporarily suspended the release of Windows 11 version 24H2 on the Release Preview channel. The reason was not disclosed.
