Windows 11 will feature several new recovery tools and features to help users and IT professionals get their PC back up and running in the event of a serious crash caused by a problematic update or a malfunctioning driver.

Point-in-time recovery
This feature allows you to roll back your system to a previous state. This tool is particularly useful for troubleshooting a wide range of issues, including failed updates, driver failures, and configuration errors, eliminating the need for complex manual diagnostics.

Improved network support in WinRE
Improved network connection support in the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). Previously, using network features in WinRE required manually installing the appropriate driver, which complicated the administration process.
The system will now automatically install the network driver from the main Windows installation, eliminating the need for manual intervention. Initially, this feature will work with an Ethernet connection, but Wi-Fi support (including WPA2/3 protocols) will be added in the future.
Reinstalling from the cloud
Enterprise customers will be able to use the Cloud Rebuild feature. IT administrators can use the Intune portal to specify the image source, select the required OS version and language pack, and use OneDrive for Business to preserve user data during the OS rebuild.
The computer will boot the installation media, reinstall the system, and allow the user to continue with the out-of-box experience (OOBE), where Autopilot will ensure proper MDM configuration. Apps will be installed, necessary settings will be applied, and files will be migrated from Intune, Windows Backup for Organizations, or OneDrive.
Intune Recovery
Intune Recovery is a solution for remotely managing the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). It is a unified, scalable platform that allows administrators to run custom recovery scripts and initiate necessary system recovery actions. Similar functionality will be available in the Azure portal for Windows servers hosted on Azure virtual machines.
POS terminal mode
A new mode has been added for POS terminals that automatically hides any Windows error dialog boxes that might otherwise appear on public displays (e.g., digital menus or airport boards). For diagnostic purposes, the error message will only be displayed for 15 seconds, after which the screen will turn off. The display will reactivate upon receiving input from the keyboard or mouse.
