Microsoft opens Copilot Pro subscription for $20 to add its support to Office. The company first launched AI-powered Office features for business in November. Now it becomes part of a $20-per-month Copilot Pro subscription. For that money, users will get access to AI options in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as priority access to the latest OpenAI models and the ability to create their own Copilot GPT.
Copilot Pro will be available for Microsoft 365 Personal or Home subscribers on Mac, Windows, and iPad devices within the Office apps. One can use it in various ways such as creating PowerPoint slides, paraphrasing, text generation, and summarizing documents in Word, etc. Moreover, AI assistance is also available in Outlook for managing emails and creating new ones, as well as in Excel for data analysis, graph creation, and more.
For those using Copilot Pro, additional benefits are provided besides Office integration. This includes access to the latest OpenAI models, Image Creator (previously called Bing Image Creator) by Designer, and the ability to create Copilot GPT agents. Users of Copilot Pro will receive 100 credits daily for faster image generation through Image Creator.
You can purchase a subscription here.
If individuals who are not Microsoft 365 subscribers wish to access Copilot Pro, they have the option to purchase it. By doing so, they can enjoy priority access to GPT-4 Turbo. The latter provides improved performance during peak usage periods and the ability to switch models. Additionally, users will have enhanced imaging capabilities with OpenAI's DALL-E models.
Copilot GPT is also available to users of the free version of Copilot. Currently, Copilot has released versions catering to fitness, travel, and cooking.
Starting from 2024, Microsoft has plans to expand the language support for Copilot. In the first half of the year, Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Ukrainian languages will be introduced.
Finally, Microsoft has also opened up Copilot for Microsoft 365 to more companies. Customers with Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Microsoft 365 E3 and E5, or Office 365 E3 and Office E5 can access it with the subscription cost for one user is $30.
Microsoft has made Copilot generally available in December.
