Not so long ago Microsoft brought the vertical tabs feature to its Chromium-based Edge browser. Currently, if you have multiple windows open with Vertical tabs enabled in all of them, to switch to horizontal tabs, you have to do it individually in each of the windows. Today's small addition resolves this inconvenience.
Vertical tabs is a newest addition to Microsoft's Chromium-based browser. It is already popular among Edge users, as it allows saving the horizontal space. By minimizing vertical tabs bar to the left you will also get more room for web page content. The user can enable or disable vertical tabs via a special button in the Edge title bar that allows switching between the traditional and newest tab row look. Microsoft is constantly working on improving vertical tabs. With recent updates, it is possible to resize the vertical tab bar, and hide the window title with vertical tabs.
Starting in Edge build 92.0.880.0, which is the latest Canary build as of the moment of this writing, some Insiders can enjoy a new improvement to quickly disable vertical tabs in all open Edge windows. Unfortunately, this nifty change is part of a controlled feature roll-out, so there is a small chance that you have it available right now.
A new option is located in Settings > Appearance. Under the Customize the browser section on the right, you will find the option called Turn off vertical tabs on all browser windows. There is a Turn off button next to it. Once you click on it, Edge will return to horizontal tabs in all its windows. No more hassle.
Currently, we have no information on when this feature will become available for a larger number of users. Microsoft didn't even announce it officially. So, it will take some time before it hits other Preview channels. Also, the final look of the option may change before it hits the stable version of the Edge browser.
