Microsoft is actively working on improving the recently introduced Citations feature in its Edge browser. It now has its own flyout. Besides this change, you will find a few improvements to the Find on page feature. Specially, it can form "related matches" and can help you search more efficiently.
The Citations feature helps students and academics format data when doing researches and writing research papers.
Citations support multiple formats for generated citations, including APA, MLA and Chicago, and can generate inline and full links to sources. Microsoft promises to expand the list of sources Edge can extract links from.
Citations now have its own pane
Until now, Citations in the Microsoft Edge browser were part of Collections. But this has changed.
In the latest Canary build of the browser, Citations have received its own toolbar button and flyout. Clicking on the toolbar button opens a new pane that contains all the related controls and options.
Besides the toolbar button, you can head over the main menu (Alt + F) > More tools and select Cite this.
Related matches in the Find on page tool
Again, currently in Canary, there is a new toggle option in the Find on page dialog. If you press Ctrl + F, you will see a new option, Include related matches. The option dynamically predict related words to form popular statements and highlight them in the text.
This allows you to find the required text portion faster at a glance.
All the above improvements may be under a controlled roll-out, so don't be surprised if you don't see them right now. It may take Microsoft some time to make them available to a wider audience.
