Here is another significant change Microsoft made in the latest update to Edge Canary. Previously we covered a new feature that allows you to open favorites folders in tab groups, and now Microsoft brings a new section to Edge's settings.
Update Microsoft Edge Canary to version 94.0.979.0, and after that, you will spot a new section called "Accessibility." It does not bring new accessibility features to the browser. In fact, it just consolidates existing capabilities in a single place for better, you know, accessibility. The only new setting appears to be the "Navigate pages with text cursor" toggle. You can enable it from the accessibility settings or use the F7 button.
The Accessibility section in Microsoft Edge Canary lets you adjust the page zoom, enable or disable mini menus, turn on navigation with the keyboard, find a link to accessibility settings in Windows, etc. As it often happens, Microsoft uses the new section to promote its own services; for example, some users report seeing prompts to set Bing as the default search engine.
How to open Accessibility Settings in Microsoft Edge?
- Update Microsoft Edge to version 94.0.979.0 or newer.
- Open the browser, then click the three-dots button in the upper-right corner of the screen. As an option, you can press Alt + F.
- Select Settings, then click Accessibility in the left pane.
- Alternatively, you can use a dedicated link that every settings section has inside Microsoft Edge. Just click the address bar and enter
edge://settings/accessibility
.
The new accessibility settings section is now rolling out to all Microsoft Edge Canary users. You can download the browser from the official website.
