Microsoft has released a new patch to Windows 10 version 2004, May 2020 Update. The update KB4558244 raises the OS version to 19041.208. The update delivers one fix, and comes with one known issue. Earlier, the same patch was delivered to the Slow Ring.
The fix included in this patch is
- We fixed an issue that fails to send NPLogonNotify API notifications from the credential provider framework.
The company is actively working to get Windows 10 version 2004 ready for release. Initially, Microsoft was considering Windows 10 build 19041.208 final version of the OS, however, later they decided to fix the issue mentioned above.
So, if everything goes according to the plan, Windows 10 Build 19041.208 will be the final release, available in the stable branch.
Microsoft noted that the May 2020 Update will only get pushed automatically to a subset of Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring at first. Everyone else can manually go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and manually check for updates and choose to install the May 2020 Update.
Windows 10 version 2004, known as '20H1', is the next feature update to Windows 10, which supersedes version 1909, '19H2'. Microsoft has finished 20H1 development, so recent builds do not include a desktop watermark. It is expected to become widely available in May, 2020, and includes the following changes:
